(Or, Who am I and what can I do for you?)

Well, we can discuss the "who am I" part over coffee some time!

In brief, I am a professional writer in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and I've been in this business since graduating from Pennsylvania State University in 1985 with a journalism degree.

I spent nearly 10 years as a newspaper reporter before transitioning to public relations/public affairs in 1999 and writing speeches, electronic newsletters, brochures, annual reports, website copy, news releases and fact sheets and other business communications.

My journalism background means that I can get to the heart of a matter quickly and write on deadline without sacrificing accuracy, clarity or vivid prose. You'll also be impressed by my researching and "people" skills. I love finding the perfect word to capture a feeling or idea. I also enjoy doing the "behind-the-scenes" work - interviewing, fact-finding and analysis - that separates a job that is merely done from a job that is well done.

The JMBWrites Approach

Writing for me is not just about the final product, whether it's a brochure, op-ed column, blog posting, speech or annual report. The collaboration between you and me - client and writer - is essential. That helps me to fully understand your project, and it's just as important as the research.

Whether you need me to put the final touches on a piece you've already started, or you need a project done from start to finish, I know you'll be satisfied with my writing as well as my commitment to your project.

Take a look at what some of my clients have said.

I also enjoy doing the "behind-the-scenes" work - interviewing, fact-finding and analysis - that separates a job that is merely done from a job that is well done.
